While blundering around small town America looking for a post office, I discovered an old Tankcar gas station, with its dirty black tank car still up
on its trucks on a platform and a little Victorian brick office in front!! This was about two blocks from downtown on the north side of Sidney, Ohio. I have seen the old photos of Tankcar stations while searching for gas stations to model, and some have been posted on here, but I was surprised to find a prototype reasonably intact. (at the other end of the lot a 3 bay repair garage has been added and that looks like the property's current function). Tank and closed office look long unused with no pumps still in the ground.
I had my camera handy and will try to post photos on here later, along with
those of another finished structure. (still working on enlarging that Korber
engine house..progress has been made) I have enough gas stations, but....
this one is tempting..
