Yes and actually after the hotel was taken over by the Knights of Columbus the ballroom became the home of Schenectady's first wrestling and boxing matches now that's a homie event!!!
Beautiful building, Don! It will look great on the layout!
Looks great Don. Enjoy. But where are you going to fit it?

I'm planning a similar outcropping on my layout. Would you please provide a bit more detail about you you constructed the girder supports? Are those Plastruct materials or something similar?
Anything you can share about the kits and/or raw materials used to make the fence along the deck, the girders just below the fence around the perimeter, and the support stanchions would be most appreciated.
It all looks great. Thanks for sharing.

STEVE I use Masonite girders and the piers in this application are Lackawanna style cut to.length and height. The railings are again Masonite.from East Coast Enterprises. . The stone trimn is a tile border I found at home depot. The platform is 3/4 inch plywood The road is slate tile from roofing and the sidewalks are tile. I still have to weather and age the steel and tile to clean for me.Hope this helps have fun!

Don:
Thanks a million for that info. I see all that's needed on that website. Since they go by a different name in their URL, I'll post the link here for others to check out:

By sharing, you've greatly improved what I was going to be able to create. Thanks again.

Looks great Don. Good luck.

Absolutely amazing building. It creates a mood, even over the web. I bet it's rreally something in person.
Would you feel free to share what you used to build it. Do you use a laser engraver and 3-D printer?
Many thanks!!!

It was built by TW Traineorx from photos and drawings I provide using laser machine and printing.
Is the prototype still standing? Just curious. Lovely work from the TW Trainworx crew and from your plans/photos.

No its gone.
Looks great Don. π
Fabulous! Have questionsβ¦
How did you create the curved front corner and then how did you wrap the bricks around it. Same for the cupola. What thickness material did you use. Who did the laser cutting? What about the drawings? Did you make them? Etc. Etc.
Beautiful, simply beautiful!
Don,
Thanks for posting. Beautiful and impressive.
MELGAR
This is stunning! Not sure how I missed it.

Looks like a stock photo of the actual hotel ready for use on post cards and advertisements. TW Trainworx knocked that one out of the park. And the plaza you built for it's location is nottoo shabby either.
