Hello everyone.  I rarely post due to my embarrassing lack of knowledge of O gauge trains.  I have gained knowledge of postwar Lionel through the forum, enough to fix most of my issues myself.  Long story short, I picked up a 2343 set complete with the 2500 series passenger cars.  (first 2343 set).  I was thrilled until I inspected the locomotive and found the front motors field was loose and the motor sparked tremendously.  After reading on the forum, and searching the internet, I found The Motor Doctor.  It was close to 6:00 PM and on a whim I called his number.  A gentleman answered the phone and I explained what was going on.  The next day, the locomotive was mailed to him.  Less than a week and a half later, my locomotive was back in my hands.  He also called to explain everything he did to the locomotive.  The locomotive now runs like new and the original horn now works too!  I can’t express my gratitude to Albert enough. He is a true professional & truly a motor doctor!

Steve,

Yes, I had Albert repair a 100 year old Ives 3242 Standard Gauge engine a couple of years ago. It would short out the transformer when I applied power. He rewound the motor, got the headlights wired, cleaned it all up, and like you said, he had it back to me in a week.

Great service, highly recommend. Here is his website:
