I received my Legacy Lionel Virginian SD70ACe this morning. WOW! The paint job is totally glossy, but hey, I figure I didn't get to Spencer last year so this is how it must have looked then.
If anybody is interested I'll be able to post some pictures tomorrow.

Here's a couple I did a few months ago.
First is my READING which started out as an MTH CSX SD70.
The second is my PENN CENTRAL that started out as an unpowered MTH NS SD70.

The Virginian looks very nice although the yellow looks light. Is that from the flash Or is the actual color that light?
Artie,
you have some talent, nice paint jobs on both.
Beautiful Artie, good luck with this engine.
Nice and now a video
Thanks david1. I believe the yellow is showing a bit light because of the room lights.
Alan Stephen - I can't seem to get the video to work. Still working on it.
Thank you PTC, it seems to be running fine (so far)
Great looking engine, can't wait to get mine.
Link works fine. Thanks for the sounds. Love the utility pole wiring. Nice work!
I don't know what happened, but this beauty became a mute after about 30 minutes of running. I used the train brake feature to stop my train and when it stopped, so did ALL sounds. No engine, no horn, no bell, no nutin'. I tried reprogramming, no help. I guess it's a call to repair tomorrow. Geez!
Artie did you do a factory reset of the engine or just a feature reset? I've found a factory reset can work when nothing else does.
I hit the 'R' icon on the Cab2 remote and I reprogrammed it to a different engine #. What else is there?
Artie
Try using the remote to raise the volume level. Might be key #1
Reprogramming to a different number should have worked I believe. Double check the actual volume pot on the engine just to make sure there isn't an intermittent issue with it.
Heres a link to do a "hard reset", along with the list of reset codes, yours should be #2.
FWIW there are two legacy volume levels via the remote, Vol ^^^^^ raises the overall master volume.
AUX 1- vol ^, AUX 1- vol^,AUX1-vol^,.........raises the background sounds
Since Artie said all the sounds went mute, my thought was to try raising the master volume.
Thank you to all who tried to help.
LIRR - Tried the volume button on the remote - nope!
Dave - Tried to reprogram to a different number and cycled the pot, no change.
RickO - Thank you for the link but the hard reset on #2 didn't seem to help either.
I dunno. Do I call the 1-800-4lionel number? Does that get me to repair?
Thanks again.
I'm goin' to bed!
I've had better luck via email, responses are typically same day. Click on "service repair question" and fill out the form.
Calling the 800 number will likely get you the "customer service lady" who will likely suggest all of the things we have already mentioned here.
It has been my impression that the emails are answered by the "lionel techs" themselves.
Well Neil, after we spoke, numerous trys at resets thanks to the OGR members here and a couple of e-mails from Lionel Tech/Customer service I currently await an RA number to send it back to the nest!
I'll keep you informed.

Many thanks to the team in Ohio. A job well done.
