In thinking and seeing so many different layout themes, I'm thinking on my expansion theme of having a Fuel Terminal. Being a manager of an Independent Terminal, yet had contracts with many major companies to supply gasoline, Diesel. and aviation and Bunker fuel also. Diesel Tanks will be painted light green, gasoline and aviation fuel tanks white, Bunker black same as Terminal I managed.

My thoughts are a waterway with ship unloading scene or a barge loading for Bunker or Tug Boating fueling up for Diesel, (what ship scene is still up in the air. A ship can just be a background scene, taking less room then a Tug or Barge) 2 Gasoline tanks, Low and High Octane, with piping to load tanker trucks and piping for mixing High and Low octane for medium grade. A Bunker holding tank as well as a Aviation storage tank. I have the room from plans I drew up to also have a tank and trackage for 2 sidings. One for loading tank cars, Diesel, and also one for Butane Tank carfor increasing Octane in purchased sour gas.

This will also allow for some interesting switching operation.

Would like to see pictures of anyone that has Terminals on their layouts, or thoughts.

JOSEF, If you have the skills, time, and determination to craft such a complex yourself, God Bless you.

However,  if you want actual craftwork done for you, whole or in part of the project, I would go straight to: Alan Graziano. He is employed in the real-life field, and he is a recognized master craftsman of just about everything we might want, especially such an industrial site as you have in mind. You may have seen his myriad postings of his work here on OGR Forum.

If you decide you would like his contact information, e-mail me and I will give it to you.

Thanks. But working over 40 years in the Chemical and oil division and manager of a Terminal I'm sure I can do it and already made a list and found areas I can get the needed items, and those needed to be scratch built. I have a rough sketch and rough dimension of what I need and area encompassing the layout. But again, thanks for post.

Should add, just being a manager didn't stop me from getting out and many times getting my hands dirty in the field.
