Photo showing hinged drop down entrance section to my round-the-room 9x16 layout. Photo taken several months ago when layout was a huge mess--currently it has grown to be a horrible mess.
hey dewey!! i like it!!! when can the club come and visit your layout???..........rogerw.
Hey *Chief! You just want to come and see where I hide those stinking "dismal diesels" and make fun of my layout mess. Anyway as you can see you would have to come one at a time--standing room only [and on street parking is worse].
*Roger is head of the Piedmont-Triad Modular RR Club and may someday get himself a steam locomotive and discover real railroading!
hey dewey! the "chief" does have a couple of steam engines, i just don't have as many as you do!!!..........................roger
Dewey,
You are truly an inspiration. I look at what you've accomplished and I'm amazed. I look at your thread about the post and beam building that you've built and you mentioned that you did some work on your 80th birthday. All I can say is great work and thanks for putting a smile on our faces. This hobby is great at keeping one young. Keep plugging away and thanks for posting.
Dewey....I have to totally agree with what Jim said. When I looked at your post about your project I was beyond amazed when you said you were 80 years young! I would never have guessed that were 80. 50's maybe but not 80. I can only hope to live to 80 much less look as young and healty as you do. Great job on the lumber shed and the layout.
Thanks for you comments guys. I'm having fun, just having it slower than I used to.
Dewey, I've only seen Roger run a steam engine once (N&W J). I think we might be dealing with a lost cause. Every time I'm at his house I just about have to twist his arm to get him to run a caboose instead of those darn blinking lights!
hey mike! that will be a $5.00 fine!!! insubordination to your superior!!!!!!........rogerw.
Just put it on my tab.
Dewey your railroad is looking wonderful! I believe fun is fun no matter if it's a little slower or not. These trains keep your mind active and keeps you off the couch and staring at the TV set. These trains are good medicine...keep on going Dewey, there is lots more to build.
Bob
Thanks Bob, that machine shown in your avatar sure doesn't look slow!
I am enjoying model railroading more than ever before. Trying to avoid rivet counting and keep things more simple with less maintenance, but so far it is not working as planned. I tend to tinker and meddle my way into more RR chores than necessary.
