I went ahead and purchased a couple hundred feet of WS roadbed for my tubular track / toy train oriented layout.  No scale or serious modeling here, just running trains and accessories but I like the look of roadbed with the 3R plastic ties.

I've never laid this type of roadbed before.  It appears that they recommend gluing it down rather than stapling as I did on a prior layout with cork roadbed.  I bought the WS glue and do plan to glue it down.  Is that the best route?

Thanks

The WS glue is ok to use, it's just glorified Elmers' glue. I've always used Elmers to glue the roadbed down. I typically lay a bead of glue down on the surface of the roadbed(which i cut into 4 ft. lengths), then spread it out over the entire surface. This ensures that the edges stay glued. For curves, you need to separate the two halves, glue up each half, then put down one following the previously drawn centerline. The foam will bend without kinking for broad(O36) curves. for smaller curves, you may need to cut small triangles out of the roadbed to get it to conform to an O27 curve(I've never used it on anything less than O31).

It's a good product, easy to work with, and easy to remove if needed-- just use a putty knife, it peels right up.

Hope this helps---
