Is there any difference from an older tiu and a more recent one made today, older I mean like when they where first made or came out with dcs. Because I am looking to pick one up just to use on a work bench for problem solving dcs engines

Most will say the Rev L is the way to go...better signal strength, etc. If all you are using it for is a work bench test track, you may be able to get away with an I or I3, etc. Stay away from the G and very early versions. I have a Rev L and Remote I'm planning to list on the For Sale Forum next week as well that I won't be needing.

For a bench set up even an H is fine. G

Using a Rev. L obviates the need for a USB to serial conversion cable, unless actually testing a pre-Rev. L TIU.
