Hi Folks. Been a while. Have question regarding a TIU unit and O gauge loco. I have a T 4000 transformer. Question is: Can I run 2 separate proto sound 3 locos on 2 separate tracks? If this is possible, please give me a clue. I have 5 Proto sound locos and have to switch them off and on the same track. Would like to run my 2 favorites on the upper and lower tracks.

Hi Linda, yes you can, all you have to do is power both track and call the engines up in your DCS remote. I run 3 trains at once 2 on the same track and one on the upper level. I also have a Z4000 as a power source. you can use one handle for the upper level and one for the lower level.
Yes, indeed, Linda: The combination of an MTH TIU for DCS and a Z4000 will serve you well for multiple engines. Using two Z-4000 transformers and one TIU I have run four MTH PS2 and PS3 engines on three separate tracks. All went well, except that I was busier than a centipede at a toe-counting contest. Do you have TIU already and have it hooked up?
You say you have 5 Protosound locos
Ate they PS3 or just PS1???
Because only P2/3 engines can be ran independently…
A P1 engine can be ran-but only at throttle speed…
