If you never intend to run DCS, it'll work fine. However, it kills the DCS signal dead if you try to feed it through the TMCC Direct Lockon.
gunrunnerjohn, my two existing loops have both Legacy/TMCC and DCS hooked up to them. This would be a smaller 3rd loop for strictly Legacy/TMCC. Would I have any problems from the DCS system? Besides the TMCC Direct Lock On and a 180W brick, would I need any extra equipment or wiring for this loop to run TMCC?
Gurunnerjohn, I will have a Weaver RS-3 w/TMCC and 3 K-Line 16" heavyweight passenger cars that I replaced the streamlighting with LEDs. What would you recommend for a power source?
Well, I like the PH180, but with one passenger train with LED lighting, most any decent transformer will do the trick.
I've got one that I've used, and it worked great. When I get around to building my layout I plan on using more of them.

If you plan on using PS2/3 stuff, I'd think twice.

So far, all my power is either TMCC or PS-1 equipped, with most of the PS-1 stuff slated for TMCC conversions. DCS is not in the cards, for a very long time, but this is good to know if I do decide to add it.
