Time to invest in some 22uh chokes for the TMCC locomotive.
John,
Question:
I heard about to installed a 22uh choke to replace the magic light bulb on a DCS controlled layout.
That would be a mistake. The light bulb and the choke serve two completely different purposes.
Question:
Can somebody confirm me that the choke as to be wired the same way for locomotive electronic circuit.
You need to be clearer as regards the question.
Question:
On a TMCC locomotive where it is required to install a ckoke. Can i have a picture or a wiring diagram
1- On a steam locomotive
2- On a Diesel locomotive
It goes between the pickup rollers and the engine's electronics, i both a steamer and a diesel. In a steamer, you may need to install chokes in both the engine and the tender.
This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!
First off, you need to find a 22uh choke with around a 6A capability. Several choices have been posted here recently.
Next, it's really as simple as finding the wires coming from the center rail pickups. The choke is wired in series with the leads so that any current coming from the track pickups has to go through the choke.
Here's a 6A 22uh RF Choke that should do the job.
