I smoked the TMCC system in Atlas engine,   Can I use the speaker that came with the Atlas engine with a new ERR sound system? Or do I need to use the speaker that comes with the ERR sound system?  Does the old Atlas TMCC speaker have a (+) and (-) ?

P.S.  I changed out the smoked TMCC system with a ERR DC commander a few months ago and now I'm ready to install a new ERR sound system in the Atlas engine.

The GP-15 engine's back trucks center rail wire had broken and I repaired it. The Atlas engines do not have much room between the center rail and outside rail wires on top of the truck. I set the engine on the track and it started up OK and ran a short distance on a curve and then "POP" and that was it, Some how the center rail wire shorted out the TMCC system.

I installed a DC commander, due to it is smaller and with more room for the power wires to move freely. I did not want to send the engine back to Atlas. And I like the new ERR railsounds better.

I still have the old "Smoked" system. Can I have it checked out to see if it can be repaired? If so, I have more engines that I could install it in that have can motors in the trucks.
