Good Day Mark the Menards Train Guy,
Thank you for bringing affordable rolling stock and buildings to O Scale! I ordered two power plants this morning.

Why not head over to their website and take a look for yourself? You can see all the specs for it too while you're there.
First of all ... Thank You and Menards for offering such fine rolling stock of O Scale Trains.
The various Flatcars and Boxcars I have purchased are the Stars of my collection.
I plan to buy even more as time and funds provide.
I do have a question on the Coal Hopper Cars that Menards sells. I purchased a Great Northern Coal Hopper Car at my Galesburg, IL Menards Store and found that all four bottom steps interfere with the movement of the Trucks when the car is transiting a curve. It has been suggested that I cut these steps off, but they seem to be an integral part for keeping the Truck in place.
What do you suggest that I do to correct this problem?
I campaigned for $25 rolling stock for many years. Always told it was an impossible task. Menard's took the challenge and beat the price point. And I've shown my support by buy a number of them. (I had sworn off new rolling stock)
But I believe Menard's deserves much more credit for the structure line. An area many had given up on.....and a line that required all new engineering and design.
At any rate a true asset to our hobby......and an unexpected one to boot!! (now if there was a store near me!!!)
MISTERSEA, not quite sure how your wheels are hitting the steps. What are your curve sizes. I do not have any hoppers yet but there could be a minimum curve limitation of 0-31 or 0-36 for that matter and anything under that like 0-27 will not work. Or if the steps are metal that are separately applied you might be able to bend them out very carefully without breaking them. Just some thoughts.............. Paul
I have three Menards structures and will be buying more. Without spoiling any surprises, I am currently building a new section of scenery for the club modular layout that features two of these buildings. It will be unveiled to the public at our club display in November.
Two words: Excellent Value
