I'm working with 1" & 2" thick pink foam to build scenery.  I have searched this topic on the forum and seen a number of tools I already own (key saw, box cutter with multiple disposable blades that snap off).

I'm working on creating a steeply sloped embankment and need something to shape the bottom of the slope.  In particular I'm looking for a file or coarse rasp that is small, can work in a confined spot, and is easy to manuever.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

George

I use all sorts of different saw blades. Sawzall , hacksaw seem to work the best. It is probably wise to invest in a hot foam knife as well. Recently, I started using green florist foam. It carries no static charge like the pink and blue foam so when you carve it falls straight down. It is definitely easier to carve. If you plan on putting trees on the hillside you could just push them into the foam. No more poking holes into foam. From now on the pink and blue foam will be for rock formations , the green floral foam for hillsides and mountains and dirt piles. George F
