Tortoise Switch Machine and DCS
After deciding I wanted to use Tortoise switch machines on my Ross Switches with MTH’s DCS system I realized you couldn’t just hook the Tortoise up to the AIU and control it as configured. This is because the Tortoise changes direction by changing the polarity. The AIU simply sends out a relay pulse. With some help by my dad we tracked down this Electronics Salon Bistable Latching relay on Amazon which allows you to control the Tortoise just like you would with Atlas’s or the DZ switch machines. I have included pictures and the wiring diagram for anyone else who may be interested.
