I was thinking about getting some MTH track activation devices for my Christmas tree layout. They have the 40-1028 which is the Infrared model. That is made for RealTrax. Does anyone know, will that work with the MTH Standard Gauge Track w/ Roadbed? Thanks.

I think listing the height of the track from the layout surface would that determination.
Without looking at the MTH version, it's all I can think of to differentiate the use of one vs another.
Or maybe width if it's a one piece unit. Lionels O are two pieces modeled after electrical panels.

Okay. I'll try to figure that out. I don't have regular O RealTrax so I'll need to find that online. If someone knows that info, let me know. Thanks.

From the pics, they look like they connect to the track in the same way. But again, the Activation device is described as O-gauge so I don't know. I may just have to take a $20 gamble.

Brainstorm: Why not try the MTH section of the forum? I'd imagine they know.
(Yep, more like a brain-sprinkle....I failed to think of that specific section too )
I don’t have any of the O track or lock ones but my guess is it will work for the outside rail but be too short for the center rail.

I agree. I was thinking the same thing. I'm going to get one and see about mashing it together with the STD lockon. Thanks guys.
