Over the weekend I visited the Kingston NY O Scale Club. Although I was not expecting it, the layout has a fairly large traction route, complete with trestles, a car barn, street running, a brewry, and a tunnel. In general the club layout is just amazingly detailed, and the traction line is no exception. Also, there was a beautiful model of one of my favorite trolleys: a LVT freight interurban. So, I took the opportunity to photograph it running the line.
Resting outside the car barn and freight terminal.
Facing the diamond, car shop, and power plant.
The green car on the left is a bit more local than the LVT; it's a Fonda, Johnston, and Gloversville interurban.
On the wye over the bay.
After departing the beach station, the motor races a sailboat across the bay.
The traction line uses a subway to pass under the massive freight yard and mainline.
Picking up freight at the brewery.
Note the steeple cab in the background.
Brewery employees watch the car from the windows of the upper floors.
Despite heavy industion uses, the bay in enjoyed by recreational boaters.
It's just a short walk from the traction line to the beach.
Looping in downtown while a CNW express blows through on the elevated mainline.
In the dusk, the LVT car begins its trip home.
