TA made a smoke dispensing device at one time for dispensing smoke fluid into steam/diesel locos.
Does anyone have any information or knowledge on this item. I do not have an item number or catalog.
Did this item work as advertised? Appreciate any information.

Yes, I remember these, I have one new and still sealed in the shipper. I have no place to install it on my layout yet, still thinking. That’s a good picture Gunrunner John. Happy Railroading
Larry, stole it right from the Lionel product page. 
I have an original one from TAS. It was made from an MTH building. Works very well. Has to be place near the edge of the layout so you can line up the engine and the spout.

These are cool little units. The TAS ones are better quality than the Lionel ones. There was some issues with the tubing on Lionel's.
I had one pre-ordered but after waiting for it to be produced I dropped it because it took way too long and many of my locomotives require a needle application.
I was just wondering if these were worth anything the other day. I love smoke, won't give it up, and have a fleet of steamers so I could get a lot of mileage from this if it works any good.
It looks like a fun accessory, but I have the feeling that you'd have to be careful not to spray fluid all over your engine with a slight misalignment.
While cool in concept, I never really saw how these could properly deliver the fluid where it needs to go.
With our Legacy steamers, I use a needle point bottle to ensure that I'm getting the fluid into the batting. Otherwise, it can just run across the plastic funnels, manifolds, circuit boards, etc and never really touch the batting.
That's what I'm saying haha seems so good in theory that I'm basically skeptical that's it's that good in practice.

Doug, my TAS loader works great and has the ability to be very precise with alignment to smokestacks. The only problem I ever have is forgetting to put a "bucket" under the spout when testing.
