I posted this a week or so ago on the 3 rail....but I am putting it here, since I am taking the video down probably next week, in case anyone wants to view it before I do that.

This is an engineer's view of my Christmas garden I put up this year.

More fun if you hit the "full screen" icon.  Hope you enjoy the train ride around my town.

Thank you, that was extremely hard to accomplish! Not really. The cut emery cloth roads tend to absorb moisture in my shop. The heat is just a temporary propane heater.

The tar paper roads tend to take on a "mind of their own" many times and what I get, is what I get. This year, I bought some foam board, stripped it out and laid down stripes to get flatter, straighter roads. Unfortunately, it sits on my bench since I did not get it done in time for the Dec 24th deadline. Maybe next year.

Hondo, I know exactly what you mean: Trains, Watches and Guitars.....too many expensive hobbies, except mine are Trains, motorcycles, boats and Guitars.....too many expensive hobbies!  AND<<<<

if you go here, https://ogrforum.com/d...nt/12129987981966095

scroll down and you will see the simple method I used to make the video. A monkey could do it! You will have great luck, just do not forget the height of the camera, and nearly run the unit into an overhead bridge like I almost did!

Last year, someone showed a pict of a unit they built, they took a flat board the size of my flat car, glued a riser to each end, and put trucks on the risers to get a car w/ a dropped center. They put their camera in the drop. Perhaps they will post a pict of that if they see this. I took the lazy man's way, which put my camera up about cab height, but did not allow me to go into my bridges.

China: "Much nicer than mine:" I would not say so, we just shot from different perspectives. I liked that layout!

"That is one comprehensive Christmas layout - very good job! " Thank you. Well, I try anyway. The fun is in running it for others. Too bad it will come down in a few weeks and all will be packed up!

Thanks to all for looking, and for the comments. Greg
