Does anyone have a hygrometer that they would recommend? All the ones I look at have a healthy amount of people saying they don’t work.

I don’t trust the one on my dehumidifier.

If you like smart technology, that is devices connected to Wi-Fi, I highly recommend UBIBOT. I have 3 of them. They're battery operated and batteries last about 6 months. They measure temperature, humidity, light and other things. No subscription required. IOW, buy and no further cost.

How about my new locomotive I ordered that's probably sitting in a sweltering hot container off the coast for a few weeks waiting its' turn to be offloaded.  Must be like an oven.

I have a couple of those on preorder myself, and one of them is something of a budget-breaker, at least for me. Both were due in October. But, all I can really do is keep my fingers crossed and hope that Santa has a first-rate locomotive or two for me on or before Christmas morning.

Tug-of-War! • Trainroom vs Piano Room

In the trainroom we are taking moisture out of the air with a dehumidifier and in the Piano Room we are adding moisture to the room with a Carrier Humidifier on the furnace along with managing heat & air-conditioning.

Who will win? The Piano Room because of all the moving wooden parts on a piano & sound board.
