Transformer power question | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

How much power would I need to run just a Polar Express set with three or four lighted cars. Have an extra 30W transformer. Would it be adequate? No accessories.

If your Polar Express locomotive and coaches are from the set, the included CW-80 will provide ample power for running with as many coaches as the locomotive can handle.

I'm not sure how many you could run with only 30w though. If you turned the smoke off, you might get away with 3 - 4 coaches, but I think it might be pushing it a bit.
