Transformer Upgrade

It's not the size of your layout. It's the load you intend to power with it,  And the amount of feeds you have.     You can have 10 miles of track and operate one or two locomotives on it with a cw80  no problem.

Thanks for your reply.  Assume just put additional feeds (2 or 3) on new track and good to go assuming running same (power) ?

Use larger wire gauge for longer runs,

Two or three would be perfect for that addition. You can never have too many, but no reason for overdoing. 

16 or 14 gauge wire would be sufficient.
