Nick, wow very nice. Scratch built. When your finished, show the completed part and when you put it on your layout, please post the photos. This is going to look nice when completed. By the way, glad I could motivate you with our Corner Field Model Railroad layout to really get yours going.

Yes you sure have motivated me! Nick
Looks great so far!! I'll be watching for more pics and good luck with the project.
Looks great, Nick.
Can you describe what materials you used for the construction and how you constructed it. Looks like you used random width board pieces for the base ?
I will be honest. This project is not for the instant gratification seeker.Still a lot of work to be done. So far I have about 35 hours in this thing. I am going to leave a couple openings in the top for derailments. I will be at it again tomorrow, Thanks for looking. Nick

Richie C. The base is a high quality 1/4 inch plywood. Then I glued 1/4 inch strips of balsa in various widths spaced about 1/8 inches apart. The bridge is not prototypical just plausible. I wanted to make it look like old wooden planking.I use Fastrak on my layout but I will transition to Gar graves over the bridge.. Nick
Built and ready for paint. Have about 40 hours in it so far.The wood used is Poplar re used from a former bridge that I built and took down. I will install lighting along the top on each side after it is painted. Nick
