Don't know much about the Toy Train Collectors Society, but they had this series of tinplate made, one a year from 1981 thru 1986. Cars are sized similar to Lionel 800/2800 series.

TTCS, if it's the same organization, is still active in Upstate New York (mostly western and central--Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica,  Binghamtom, Elmira).  They ran the biggest train shows in the area during the 1980s and 1990s.  Now much smaller shows, but close to a dozen a year throughout the region.
