Do you have a favorite tuner/cleaner you use for general work on the trains / layout---contact points, etc. ???

Any products to stay away from?

I just used up a can I've had for a thousand years and need to replace it

I like and use a lot of CRC products any reason to not use their cleaner

Thx in advance

I use both CRC Contact cleaner (spray), and several different Caig labs products. As Pete wrote Deoxit works well on contacts. I also use their Pot cleaner on noisy pots. It's almost like magic. I use a couple of their grease/lubricants too.
Some of the Caig products have been renamed, if someone needed to know, I could probably figure out the names of those that I use.

I also use CRC 2-26 as a general metal protectant.

I stay away from tuner cleaners because the last I knew, they contained lubricants.

Don't know if this relates to your original question, but I would NOT use ANY of those contact/tuner cleaners to clean or "condition" your track. Especially if you have DCS!

I tried that CRC stuff from Home Depot, both the "cleaner" and the "conditioner", and it promptly destroyed the DCS signal strength on those track sections I tested it on. I  quickly went back to using denatured alcohol, and cured the problems from the CRC stuff.

I thus have stayed with the tried and true denatured alcohol!
