I'm operating layout with a Z4000 and TIU for DCS operations.  I was going to use a Radio Shack In Line Fuse holder, p/n 270-0015, designed to hold 30 amp 12/24VDC Mini blade fuse and install a 10 amp mini blade fuse.  Then the question came up of using a DC fuse for an AC application.

I'm using 14 ga wire throughout the layout and want to protect the TIU which has a 20 amp fuse that sure looks like a mini blade DC fuse.

At these low amp applications can I use a DC mini blade fuse for the AC system.    I did a website search for DC fuses in a AC system and each web site really wasn't helpful as it used 110VAC and 12 VDC or 24 VDC examples.

Thanks  Moke Mike

From the Littlefuse site:

Can fuses with an AC voltage rating be used in a DC applications?

Fuses must be rated for the voltage AC or DC in which they will be used. Generally, fuses have a DC voltage rating that is half of the maximum AC voltage rating. (Example: LLSRK_ID - 600 VAC, 300VDC) Consult the factory for specific DC voltage ratings.
