EC-4 v3

A thread of: My Vacuum Cleaner Car 2.0 - Lee Willis posted some time ago .

I took Lee's idea for a rolling vacuum car with a vacuum and created a Union Pacific EC-4 housing to fit  it. The prints above show the 2D laser cut acrylic parts in colors and the gray parts are 3D resin printed.  The vacuum is not shown. This car is not powered as is the actual car. However, since the actual UP EC-4 has transmission issues, it is pulled by a diesel with a flat car between. As such my non-powered car is sort of pro-typical of the original. i plan on pulling it with a UP inspection car.

The rear of the car shown in the first picture has a lift off roof to facilitate removing the vacuum for charging; And the side panels slide back to remove the charger housed within.

The model operates on 072 min radius curves and the overhand is huge! Which is fine since I am trying to do a lot of vacuuming of the track.

All of the acrylic and resin parts are being printed. I have a few more details such as the wiring harness to the LEDs (there are 14 LEDs) and the exterior graphics.
