DHS Diecast advertises in OGR.  They had an ad for M1 Abrams tank in Run 257 on page 69.  They are 1:55 scale and list for $49.95.  They look pretty nice too.

Several years ago I bought 2 tanks from a place on the internet called WarTanks.com.  One was an M1 Abrams and the other was a Merkava MK.3.  Both were extremely nice and well detailed.  One was diecast and the other was resin.  Both had a lot of weight.  Both were 1:48 scale models and fully assembled.  Very nice but I don't know if they (WarTanks.com) are still around.  I think I paid around $50.00 each and I think they were worth it.

Hope this helps,  Rick

David Go on eBay, toys and hobbies, die cast cars, trucks, look under military vehiicles, 1/50 scale. You can search on Sherman, Patton, M10, M60 etc. I run a Military train at my clubs open house about 20 flatcars most with two Shermans, M10 Tank Destroyers, Halftracks etc. Average price $20-$25, most I paid was $30. Stay away from buy it now unless it is a great price or you can not live without it. Set a limit and stick to it, you can find plenty of US armor. Good luck! JohnB

I get all mine via Amazon.  Very good prices if you are selective and willing to wait a few weeks.  So far I have bought 3 diecast Pattons, 3 die cast Shermans, and assorted jeeps and other armor - maybe a dozen pieces altogether.  Of course if you want 1/48 plastic kits (Tamiya, Hobby master or some brand like that) they have hundreds . . . .

I don't do e-bay - too many bad experiences.  But I have a short list of websites I check once a week, one each day.  I hit  Amazon every Tuesday during lunch break and use its serach engine to see what is new this week.  Inventory turn over is big and fast, so nearly every week I find something new.  If they don't have the halftracks I want this week they will next week, or the week or month after . . .

Usually for any item (e.g., diecast Corgi Patton) they will list several different associate vendors with different prices and you can take your choice.   I don't always buy from the lowest cost, but I always find a good price.

I like it particularly because the serach engine is very very good once you learn its little quirks.  I am set up to buy with one-click and it is so fast and convenient it saves me a lot of time.
