What's the MTH part number of that GP38?
You could look up the MTH number on their site and see if the locomotive has a break down drawing. If they are separate from the body they'll have a part number you can order.
MTH 20-2901-2
Rats, I was hoping there'd be a parts breakdown for the engine.
thanks for trying.
Are those 2mm or 3mm LEDs? If 3mm you might be able to use "3mm LED clips" (search eBay). These don't have as much detail as the one you show but may be a starting point if you can't source the MTH parts. The outside diameter of the clip/bezel is just under 1/4".

thanks.. the ones on the loco are 5.73mm or.226"[od of black ring]
I think the ones that Stan posted would be a pretty good fit.
You might also consider 2mm post LED's and find some black plastic washers if you want something smaller.
Are they separately applied? You could e-mail Midge with model # and describe the parts. She could advice you if the part is available.
Have not seen an engine like that, normally they are molded into the shell. G
Are these ps2 board supplied 5 volts?
My guess is those would be LED's supplied off the marker outputs of the PS/2 boards. They drive the LED's directly.
I agree with G. These appear to be molded in, then painted black. Looking at the engineer's side of the engine there are three tits at 6, 9, 12 O'clock but nothing at 3 o'clock. An LED holder would not be made like that.

Are these ps2 board supplied 5 volts?
Yes, The board logic runs off 5V. It is dual used to run smoke fan motor and LEDs (Markers and Beacon) if equipped. G
Here is a Led and Plastic Holder I have used on Williams diesels. This has a bright metal ring that encloses the holder.
