I have been trying to fix this problem for weeks, no luck,  a little background: bottom loop and top loop both about 43 feet in length.

Equipment:

VL Hudson, VL Big boy and a GP 35 Legacy.

VL Big Boy and GP 35 Legacy run great on either track. VL Hudson runs for about 150 feet, light blinks , engine stops, this is the same for either loop, also the light on the Tender is not working, a broken ground strap has been replaced but did not fix the light.

This was addressed earlier as a Ground Plane problem, after reading several posts and Mike Reagan's video, I have run 14 Gauge wire (overkill probably but I had the wire) in what I hoped was a correct Ground Plane. Did not fix the problem. The Ground Plane is above the bottom loop track and under the upper loop.

Could this be an equipment problem and not Ground Plane.

Again, all help is appreciated.

 J Daddy,

Thanks for the remarks, the light will go solid sometimes when touching the handrail but not every time, sometimes just putting a hand over the front of the engine will make the light go solid but not every time.

Maybe the ground plane wire above the track is wrong, maybe it goes under the track, there are 3 legacy engines on my layout and the only one with this problem is the VL Hudson.I have read where some folks put the wire between the plywood and homosote, it is too late for me to do that.

Thanks

Brent
