Water effects

I made a pond using envirotex lite and it worked very well. I decided to use mod podge to create water effects rather than have the flat shiny surface. However, I ended up with numerous bubbles after it dried and it looks terrible. I was careful and used a soft synthetic bristle brush as recommended. Is there any way to hide the bubbles and if not to remove the mod podge?
