I am about to tackle this for the first time. While I'm not too concerned about the transfer process I am not sure what sealer or other chemical application, if any, is necessary following the transfer. A search on eBay produced a 3-chemical solution kit. Not very expensive, but based on the seller's description at least one of the solutions does not appear to be useful to me. Any opinions or suggestions will be appreciated. My first job will be to decal an unmarked gasoline truck.

Microscale makes great decal products. Micro Gloss to make the attachment surface glossy (best for a decal). Then the application fluid....MicroSol. You can clear coat if you want with the above Gloss or Micro Satin or Micro Flat.

About a third of the way down I describe my decal application process. If you don't want a semi-gloss finish, you can use Testors dull cote
I'm sort of a newbie at this. Re lettered a steam loco with decals from EBay. Read numerous how to's and watched a few videos. Finally purchased a set from Micromark. Testors products. Included gloss, semi gloss, flat and a setting solution. Seemed to give a pretty good result.
Thanks for all the replies. I should now be able to give this a try.
