Just because it's in the "next" catalog, that doesn't mean it's actually going to be available anytime soon.
I agree. I ordered two WBB from Nassau hobby and will wait and see how long MTH catches up.

I'm in - placed my pre-order yesterday! I'm super excited about these... can't have too many neat little switchers!

I'll get command into it, wait and see. Maybe sound as well.
People are installing ESU LokSound DCC sound decoders in N scale 44 Tonners. I can't imagine this model wouldn't have enough room.
Well the PRe-order is the same as the street price of the WBB Rs3! I doubt one will see it NIB cheaper. these should be in by Oct-Nov just like the WBB Rs3's!

Well, the boards for command and sound are not N-scale sizes, so the N-scale experience doesn't have much bearing on what we can do here.

You must be talking about 3 rail and I am talking about 2 rail. That's the difference. A QSI Titan board has more than enough current rating for a small switcher like this and it is only 1.75 x 0.66"X 0.26”. I guarantee there is enough room for one of those.
If you are trying to fit the oversized O gauge components, then yes you may have difficulty. Still, I have seen quite a few S gauge engines upgraded to TMCC and RailSounds so it may be possible.
Well, since this engine is coming in 3-rail, that's what I would be thinking. I believe it was stated that it won't be available in 2-rail, at least initially.
This Rich Yoder GE 44 tonner has an ERR drive system, sound, and electro-couplers. The models are about the same size. The ERR board that I used is no longer available.
I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying we're not using N-scale DCC boards to do the conversion.
I think it should be possible to put the new Cruise Commander Lite and RailSounds Commander into it, at least that's my plan.
