Anyone out there have this engine? How well does it run?

I found the following information.

"This GG-1 has a digital sound and control system much like the original ProtoSound from MTH. It has engine operating sounds, bell, whistle and more. All of these features are directly controllable right from your transformer that is equipped with a whistle/horn button! It even has a unique feature that will let you assign an engine ID# and then control it without using blocks on your layout."

I don't have the Conrail version of the Weaver GG1, but I have all of the PRR versions they offered (5) total.  The later ones have sound.  They are solid runners and have the now traditional dual mounted vertical can motors over the power trucks.  They are weighted well to pull a decent amount of cars.

I'll have to check my later versions, but I believe none of the models had flywheels.  The Proto Sound module is an ad on module that plugs into the control board and is not integral to it like MTH's version.  If the sound board fails, the locomotive runs just fine as a conventional locomotive.

The post PRR schemes seem to be the hardest to find these days and include Conrail, Amtrak and Penn Central.
