Weaver 2 Rail E8 B Unit Missing Couplers

I would just mount couplers in these boxes.

What brand  of couplers would you suggest? Thanks.

I would bet the screws are a spaced for Kadee couplers since that's how Weaver did their rolling stock.

I got some somewhere. I usually throw them out because they are plastic. At least the Weaver couplers I have seen that are supplied with their rolling stock are all plastic. Maybe they used metal couplers on their E8s but I don't know.

If you really want a set you can have them for the cost of postage.

Those sure look like 2 rail models and would accept KD couplers.

Did they come with center rail pick-ups for 3 rail?

Weaver also made diecast couplers that look just like the plastic ones, but do not break easily.

Kadees will mount to Weaver cars without modification. If you have wide curves, I'd recommend Kadee 740's, but if you have sharper curves, the 746 long-shank couplers will give you more clearance/swing. The 700-series mimic the "Type E" prototype couplers in appearance, are all metal, and have concealed knuckle springs.
