Newbie question from an N-scaler that's getting hooked on 2 rail:  I recently got a Weaver Herbie PS-1 boxcar in 3 rail that I've converted to Atlas 2 rail roller bearing trucks.  In order to get the correct coupler and ride height I had to remove the frame section and mount the trucks directly to the boxcar floor.  Is this the common method of upgrading these with the Atlas trucks, or is there a better way?  I thought I would ask before cutting up the frame and gluing some of the sections to the floor bottom to retail some underbody detail.

Thanks!

Unless you MUSt use the Atlas O trucks, the better way is to get some scale trucks from either Weaver or from other O scale Mfg's. Weavers ultrascale cars are made to O scale standards while Atlas O caters to the 3 rail group first- hece the large truck bolster on the Atlas O trucks.
