Weaver 57’ Mechanical Reefer sound issue

If my memory serves me right, the electronics have three phases.  Phase One shows the red light with no sounds, Phase Two shows an amber light with the generator at idling RPMS and Phase Three shows a green light with the generator making sounds at operating RPMs.  John

Sound in the video is the way they are, crappy. That's why everyone turns it off. Car opens by removing the roof.

The sounds for the reefer were from TAS.  We used Mike Reagan's Chevy suburban for the diesel sounds.  Unfortunately the sounds are stored in a chip on board which is not replaceable.  Originally manufactured by Techno-Mind (long out of business) I was able to see the assembly procedure while in Hong Kong.

I’m assuming that mikes suburban was a 6.2 or 6.5 liter gm diesel?

I was able to open the car up and play with the volume pod and at a much lower volume it sounds better , still really bad for today’s standards. If I wanted to replace the guts and just have generator sounds with the cycling lights is that a option ,is that even possible.

I recently bought two reefers secondhand which I did not expect to have sound. I want to say it was a pleasant surprise but I definitely need to turn the sound down for that to be true.
I took a look inside but I don't see an obvious "volume pod." Could you give me another hint?
