I got a weaver flat car with trailer with some missing parts, a Santa Fe with Navajo trailer. The parts that are missing are the brake wheel and the drop down plates at each end. Does anyone know of anyone having parts from the closing of Weaver that I can contact. All help greatly appreciated....Paul

Paul, you should track down and contact Bob Lavezzi (from Linden, NJ, I believe).  He was set up at a local train show here in MA a couple weeks ago and had a ton of Weaver replacement parts.

I don't know if he had the specific items you're looking for, but certainly worth a try as he purchased a good portion of Weaver's parts inventory when they closed up.

Weaver replacement diecast trucks (to replace the plastic ones) were impossible to find during the last several years Weaver was in business. If anyone has a source for those, I'd like to know it. I understand Lionel will be making these (for their new line of Weaver-based boxcars) - looking forward to their availability.

In speaking with Bob Lavezzi at the local train show a couple weeks ago, he told me he sold out of the die-cast (LD) friction-bearing (Bettendorf-style) trucks very quickly after purchasing Weaver's remaining inventory.

As we all know, they were a "hot" item.  I sure am glad fellow Forum member "Rail" (Don) helped me secure 20 pair of them from Joe at Weaver right before they closed up!

Bob DOES, however, have a lot of the roller-bearing style die-cast trucks remaining...as evidenced by the large quantity he had available for sale at the show.  If you're looking for roller-bearing style, he has them!

He had 3 or 4 tables literally covered with Weaver replacement parts.  I saw motors, wiring harnesses, lights, gears, steam & diesel locomotive wheel sets, steam boiler shells, steam trailing & tender trucks, diesel truck side frames, diesel pilots, railings, etc...and a ton of smaller detail parts that I really didn't pay attention to as I was only looking for die-cast freight car trucks!

I would certainly contact Bob if I were searching for specific replacement parts before assuming there are none available.  It's worth a shot simply based on the shear quantities of parts I saw at the show!
