I was on the Weaver website, and noticed they had seperate sale commonwealth trucks for sale. They don't come with couplers from what I can tell from the pictures, but do come with a 3rd. rail pickup. I'd like to use these trucks on a LaBelle passenger car, but don't know what to use for a coupler. I'll e-mail Weaver this question tomorrow, but looking for information here. Do Weaver passenger cars have a body mounted coupler?

I purchased a set of Atlas trucks for this purpose, but the coupler shank is much too short to make them work.

Any tips or information would be welcome.

Ha...It depends.

I have a 5-car N&W Weaver set and the couplers are mounted on the trucks along with a 1-1/2"x5" plate that mounts to the underframe.  The pivot point of the coupler is the pivot point of the truck.  This coupler is 3" long

I have 2 Weaver Pullman Bradley cars that have body mounted (shorter) couplers, mounted on a fixture that mounts to the underframe at the at of the underframe.  This coupler is 1-1/2" long.

The P-B cars are newer, so maybe they've gone to all body-mounted.
