After about 16 months of being on back order, 2 Sanding Towers and a 50k Gal Water Tower is finally here. The detailing is incredible. Nice job Weaver!!!!

Cesar, those look fantastic, particularly in the overall scene. btw, if i'm not mistaken, I recall awhile back that you did a thread on weathering and painting a plastic signal station on a small diorama. do u recall the title of the thread. I'd like to review it in terms of painting an mth building. thanks.

Hey man, really nicely detailed! I know exactly where that scene is on the layout. Nice job as usual.
wow those ARE great!
GREAT stuff Cesar. I love engine facility details!
Great to see that the sanding towers are being shipped. I have mine on order from Bob at AM Hobbies. I do hope that he is getting better. Has anyone heard about his condition lately?
Sanding towers? Those look similar to the plastic coaling tower that Lionel and I think Walthers did in plastic that I am now trying to detail. I missed this Weaver offering as those really look nice. I will be studying your photos to try to enhance this one that I pulled out of a junk box. I assume these are in brass and considerably more substantial. I just found a book on the subject of coaling towers that has several photos of this type of coaling tower, and many others, wooden, etc.
Whoops..my bad!! I was so impressed with your coaling towers that stood out in the
photo, that I missed the sand towers that you were addressing. All make a great
scene.
sweet!!
One terriffic looking engine facillity
Thanks for all the kind words
Jerrman, thank goodness you found that thread, I thought "C R S" was kicking in

Cesar, Weaver has done a fantastic job rendering the Pennsy 50K tanks. But a FYI, those big blocks on the tower legs and water pipes are the foundations which bottoms would be 4 to 5-feet below grade. According to the drawing only about 12-inches or so would be exposed above grade. Just in case you were not aware.

Cesar:
The gray biulding in the background in the first picture you posted. Is that a pre-built and if so do you recall the manufacturer?
Thanks
Joe

Ron, thanks for the heads up. I guess a pit is in the making for this structure

Joe, those are just 4 Plasticville Coaling Towers fused together. Saw something similar at York a while back and decided to give it a shot.

Cesar....good to see your post! Seems like we haven't seen as much of you lately unless I have just missed your posts. Always enjoy your pictures....beautiful layout! By the way, I got two of the sanding towers and the water tank from Norm's O-scale last September during the Indy National O-scale meet. I am cutting out a place in the quietbrace to lower the tank footings since for some reason Weaver decided to attached them!!
Alan
Cesar, the sanding towers look Great. I like all of your Engine Service Area.
Cesar:
Great job on that kit bash for the coaling towers. It reminds me of the old wood coal towers that had 4 or 5 chutes in a row.
Joe
Great looking scene.....you have a great eye for scenery placement!
