Weaver V-1000 in conventional-remains in neutral | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Have a Weaver V-1000 which has been in storage thirteen years.
I am using conventional (ZW).
Loco remains in neutral at start-up.
Rail Sounds, directional lights all work.
Tried to sync the run switch with the e-unit; not doing it right.
QUESTION: How do I wake up the loco to run it?

Are you sure that the motors aren't bound up somehow?

Mark.....This is a common problem with this engine. The grease used in assembly hardens and causes the problem,

I have one that had the bad grease. It was locked up. After a good cleaning and fresh grease and oil it is now one of my best runners.
