How close are the Weaver flatcars with 35' trailer to the Lionel?

Well, they're friendly, but I don't know that I would call them close.
In point of fact, not very close. Different prototypes, so far as I know. Both very nice;
I have the Lionel non-TOFC car, and 3 of the Weaver TOFC cars.
Typical dealer pricing of the Weaver cars, at least the last time I noticed, and the quality of the car and trailer (both very good), make these nice models some of the bigger bargains in OS3R. I've seen them very cheap ($30 - $35) at a train show - and a friend snatched them up before I could; how dare he?.
The Weaver are more affordable, the Lionel has more/better details. That said, I have both. For me it's more a matter of what is offered than is who is offering it.
