In anticipation of the upcoming 3rd Rail PA's, thought I'd showcase my old R.O.W. D&H units that were truly ahead of their time (1990s) for a 'normal' 3 rail diesel. Please note the 'eyebrow' grab rails, windshield wipers, additional lighting between the windows, the lighted side number boards, and air hoses on the pilot among other niceties not found on locomotives from'The Big Three' at the time. These were also made of brass and had two Pittman motors for amazing power.

I always liked the different finish of the body that simulated stainless steel as opposed to the 'regular' silver of the trucks.  I should have mounted a Kadee but I did pull the oversized stock coupler!

I remember going thru customs with one of those and although we didn't speak the same language the guys there all came to take a good look and all were smiling!

Lou,  what year did you guys bring these out please?  They were my favorite engines for  long time. I sold them about 5 or 6 years ago (for a pittance) and now have the new D&H PA's on order from Scott (via Norm's O Scale)

Your Santa Fe's were equally beautiful with the 'stainless' sides...

It was the early 90's.  Not sure of the exact year.  I have the Erie and E-L prototypes.  Can you tell I'm from Cleveland?

The first ever on board state of the art digital sound systems are now far surpassed by the current electronics.  Back then it took 9 chips to generate one sound.

A friend is awaiting his NKP PA's from Scott.  He does an excellent job!

Regards,

Lou N
