New power on the Santa Fe -- Dash 9-44CW. This is the result of MTH's upgrade of these models with PS3, better trucks and fuel tanks, and here, fixed pilots.
One of the Forum members wrote me and asked how I staged my last week's contribution to the Weekend Photo Fun. I just placed a temporary shelf attached to the bottom of the mantle. The photo below gives a better prospective.
Bill:
You give new meaning to the ad campaign that good things happen in Michigan. All I can say is WOW to your new addition in progress for your layout. This is just fantastic.
New arrival at Mels New `59 Corvette causing quite a stir
More new items found this side of the pond
Brian, Thank you very much. I am looking forward to more progress on the silo complex. Alan is off to a GREAT start.
I love the suroundings for your picture under the mantel. The "BIG GUY" on the wall looks really cool

New hotel in Foxdale
Station master checking out the new taxi
With the new inspection side on the mountain you can get a great effect with all the smoke building up before exit.
German narrow gauge paying a visit to the logging line
To get into the spirit of Bill's post above of his magnificent new granary, here is a picture of my scratch built version I just completed.
I will have a separate thread with more pictures...
Have a great weekend everyone!
Alan
Alan, Great job on your GRAIN COMPLEX.
Thanks Bill....I was going to say the same thing to you!! I had to get up on the layout to take the picture and still couldn't get all of the structures that are part of the complex. Your model will be soooooo much nicer. Some day I am going to have to see your layout in person.

All MPC this week -
Since yesterday was the 150th anniversary of the Great Locomotive Chase, I thought I'd take and post some new pix of my SMR General and Texas models:
Andy
He are some new shots. The new lionel steam effects make for some great photos and fun train action. The truth is these engines have spoiled me. I will only buy steam engines with these steam effects from now on. Enjoy!
Does anyone notice anything different about the S3? I made a modification.
Rich
Two strips of black Scotch Fasteners Heavy-Duty
Plus two Arttista figures (1226 O Gauge Modern Engineer; 1227, Fireman) purchased from The Strasburg Train Shop at the Choo-Choo Barn
Equals a crew for my Williams New Haven EP-5. I painted the horns, too. I took these photos before I replaced the pantographs. I'm inspired by Weekend Photo Fun and by Tom Groff's artistry at the Choo-Choo Barn.
This unit starts in Forward. Now I can put it on the track with the crew facing Forward.
Great Looking, Rich!

Rich, beautiful engine. How does the engine run with older models? they changed the pilots for the correct # steps?
My snow plow interferes with the hoses. I trimmed the holes bigger to allow some slack. Did you have to?
Funny how great minds think alike Joe

That is quite an endorsement, Rich! I'll have to look into one of those full-feature locomotives myself, if and when some smaller motive power is available (a USRA switcher would do nicely in my case).
Brian - Your photo this week is very impressive! I love the train and Easter decor but the fireplace and moosehead are outstanding! I wondered what happened to Bull Winkle and now I know. You haven't seen Rocky have you?

Bill - You have another fabulous project underway with Alan G. I don't know that I have ever seen tracks under a grain elevator complex before, but it certainly makes an impressive structure. I have no doubt that it will be another masterpiece when its finished.
Alan - I love your grain elevator complex! The combo of concrete elevator with old wood elevator and grain bins really hits the mark for me. I can't wait to see it after you have weathered it and added signage. I see a lot of new tonnage for your railroad. Great job!
Art
Alibatwomble- Love your layout. May I ask what that handsome station in the photo with the staionmaster and taxi is? Is it cardstock? Almost looks like a Hornby Skaledale enlarged to O gauge size.
Regards,
Mack
I took some pictures around my layout.
A very important delivery arrived in the industrial section of town...LIONEL SMOKE FLUID!
Lionelville Station has been moved to a new location...
Some new station platforms have been added, between tracks one and two...
Art, Thank you for your kind words. The unloading structure will have the lighter duty items placed on it while the larger SILO Structures will be mounted behind and above the Loading/unloading structure. We have to get them inplace for the fall 2012 Harvest
Keith:
Your photos this week are impressive. Nice job.
Keith, love the new station platform. Very nice!

Keith...as usual, love the photos of your great models!! Glad you are part of our Mid-America 3-Railers and this forum!
Art...thanks so much for your comments here and on my granary thread. I have a question for you responding to your questions and comments over on that thread.
Alan
