Nice shots as usual everyone.
I have 1 to contribute this week.

Triple heading a big transformer load at my club, and a few pics of my door layout.
Great pics as usual, everyone, a great weekly thread.
The Caterpillar like M1000 interloper arrives..fresh from refurbishment.

That's not the Williams one though, it's my Lionel JLC one
I can understand your excitement though. The Williams one is really nice for that price. If I had the $150 right now, I'd probably get one to partner up with my Lionel one
And unfortunately, that layout right now has O-36 curves so the GG1 is limited to back and forth running on that short straight section. Maybe I should get my O-72 back out downstairs and let it stretch a little.
My latest addition, the MTH Euro Tank Car...another terrific model in details and painting..at 15' long (16.5 with the dummy couplers) and almost 1.5lbs (thanks to the die-cast trucks and most underbody pipping/details) it's a fairly large freight cars..run well on 048..but obviously even better on 072.
Here in the Wascosa (Swiss freight cars leasing Co) and OMV (Autrian Mineral Oil Authority)
Dave A, I'm lovin' those diesels!
Lafondue, I wish MTH detailed thier American tank cars like that.
A while back someone posted a picture of a Climax locomotive on a flatcar being shipped. Well, that gave me the idea to do this to my Walt Disney World HO set (I don't think it's really HO, since the real things are narrow gauge). I finally got to make this after picking up flatcars (for $1 each) at York. I wanted to chain them down, but until I find chain, the elastic bands will have to do.
Hello guys. This July 2, my layout will be 30 years old. I designed it to be a toy train layout with toy train track. I made the swing to scale trains but still love to say I am a toy train guy. I have made many great friends over the years and try to share with everyone. Our OGR forum family means a lot to me with all the great members.

The walls of our train room need some work. So today was a COLD RAINEY DAY. Sounds like a P A I N T I N G D A Y
Part of our layout has some bench work in place while 2 other areas are close to starting the benchwork. So it is a good time to attack all the areas.....
Posted this on themes yesterday, but it fits good for the photo fun! Thanks Scott for doing your part.
Back drop is approx. 75% done still needs alot of detail of leaves, brush and autumn color. Need to eventually mount switch machines under the table and Scale signals from custom signals So much to do so little scratch!
Have a GREAT Weekend everyone!
Chris
I love the look of this creek bed (wait a minute...I grew up in Western New York. Ilove the look of this crick bed!). Great job on the details. Looks like one of those mountain streams that are just a trickle during the summer but are raging with mountain run off in the spring. Thanks for the great picture.....
Great pictures everyone!
Bill....the blue walls sure make a difference!! Are you going to do something with the ceiling (black paint???)
Marty...the pictures of your layout are spectacular.....love the catenary.
Alan

Marty you and your layout And features like the operating catenary are true inspirations to us here on the forum and myself in particular. I too grew up on the tracks of the reading in Elkins Park riding the lansdale local and many other silver liners and other mu's. Thank you for sharing your experience and the work you do.!!!!Dave and Mike, thank you for the kind words. I spent my youth in Hatboro Pennsylvania and lived with an aunt and uncle. Every day my Uncle would have us at trackside watching the GG-1 monsters go by, I remember the night I saw double headed box cabs pulling coal hoppers. I did not know then what they were. Now I know they were the GN motors. My mother is still alive and has the photo my Father took somewhere and I haunt her to look for it. I want to see the cab numbers so I can redo my box cabs to those numbers.
Your layout is amazing Marty. I would love to see it someday.

MARTY YOUR LAYOUT IS JUST BEAUTIFUL
THANKS, ALEX
Marty,
Beautiful layout!
Some dummy ordered his first GG-1. Any chance of a small tutorial on your catenary ?
Did you make the uprights?
Distance apart? (straights and curves)
What kind of wire?
David

Hey, I thought you bought 10 GG1's at York, where are the other 9 (or more since I think you already had a couple?)
That operating catenary is really neat too. Great layout overall, it just looks like it would be a fun one to run trains on.
That G is an MTH I have the others stacked. I saw the real paint job back in the day. It hurts me to see that historic engine sitting outside at the PRR museum rusting away while cement hoppers and non historic rolling stock are inside out of the elements. Shame on the people who run the PRR museum.
Here are a couple of shots of my Lionel PRR K4 running yesterday on the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers' setup:

I agree with you about #4800. The first of it's kind and it's stuck in the RR yard. I don't know if they've moved ahead with any fundraising or things, but I thought I heard awhile ago that they wanted to build a roundhouse around their turntable to house a number of engines (I think #4800 was included in that) that are sitting outside now.
I agree with all of the above. It also pains me to see the K4 sitting outside rusting away. These shots are from the Wednesday of York week while I was at Strasburg.
Marty your layout is awesome. I'm sorry we missed each other at York. Hopefully we can meet in October.
Walt:
Your night shot is spectacular.
Thanks PTC!
It's now dark enough and the movie, Gone with the wind, is up and showing.

A pair of 0-8-0 switchers pulls its train over the entrance to the harbor on the Michigan and Great Lakes RR.
This is the frist area of the layout I plan to add scenery too.
I'm a big fan of the architectural firm of "Arthur Deco and Associates." Nicely done. What materials did you use?
Matt:
These are cast by Terry Wellman at St. Charles Modelworks. Ed Opyd did the master.

Congratulations on your 30th year anniversary. Your layout is truly wonderful and fills the eyes in any direction. You are also one of the nicest guys in our hobby.
