Your scenery is superb!  Thank you for sharing the photos!

I love the stained glass window.  My father-in-law was very good at making stained glass when he was still living.  We have a couple of hanging lights he made, and a stained glass window beside our front door, (the tall, two foot wide vertical window beside the door), that he made.  I saw your thread on the construction of the bar.  You really do nice work!

Finally track work and wiring complete on the new switching layout.  Track is MTH Scaletrax with two O-54 switches and two O-72 switches all modified to prevent shorting.  In the midst of installing the fascia.  Will be applying a rust effect to the fascia once prep is complete.   Now taking a little break and running trains!

Thanks to all who commented on my photos. To answer the questions:

The catenary poles come from Model Memories

http://www.modelmemories.com/oprods.htm#cat

They are very sturdy, very nicely constructed, and pretty close visually and in scale those to used on the section of the mainline I am modeling. I will add corner angle braces (with rivets), make them look a bit wider, and add some more details to get the look I want.

I got the idea for the post and cable guard rails from Neal Schorr. The posts are made from 3/16” diameter wood dowels.  They have nails in one end for planting. The eyelets in this photo are hand formed from 22 gauge wire.  But I am now using lifting eyes available from Precision Scale.  The cable is either elastic thread (Beadalon Elasticity JE0.5T-0025M,  0.032” diameter), painted silver, or  19 strand bead stringing wire (Beadalon JW17T-0, 0.24” diameter.  The former is easier to get taut, because of the elasticity, but looks a bit big.

The Trees are made from.... well, you have to wait for the upcoming OGR article for that one!

John,

Those posts and cables are just what I remember growing up in Western Pennsylvania.  The photo is fantastic.  I'll look forward to your article on the trees.

Latest acquisition. I've been searching for the scale-wheeled UP Heritage units. Picked this one up from a forum member who responded to my WTB post. Worked out well for both of us. It's brand new. Didn't get to spend much time at the club today, but I was able to get the rollers onto this one and do a quick test run in 3-rail mode after testing it in 2-rail mode. Got the couplers on it when I got home. Four down; three to go.

Came across a pair of MTH 2-rail trucks a couple of weeks ago and decided to put them on a CNW gondola. Turned out well and tracks perfectly. Got a couple of pairs of MTH 2-rail trucks (and a bunch of others) off the For Sale forum.
