Scott,
My LHS has that set on the shelf. I just love it. Love the colors, and they remind me of my days on the park railroad, as our engines were painted in bright blue and red with brass and chrome. Long been tempted to buy it. Hope it is a good runner for your son.
I added yet another siding (right) to my layout, not much. I'll have to move the support tower for the upper loop again as it is too close to the track and pretty much all of my rolling stock rubs against it when going in/out of the siding.
This week's photo is a tribute to Forum member Keith who instituted a campaign to build the GM Train of Tomorrow. Without his effort, this project probably would never had been done.
Forum member Michael Breen visited the club layout last evening to pick up our/his new Legacy C&O Berkshire. We had a nice time getting to know each other and running some trains.
Also pictured here is the new atomic energy station facility recently installed by some of the members and the first showing of a scratch-built 'BLT" transfer locomotive.
Visited my daughter in Atlanta this past week.
I didn't realize that Atlanta had a light rail streetcar system.
I had my 1st trip on MARTA.....and went to Turner Field to catch a Braves game.
Lastly, on the way home (going northeast on I-85), we stopped at Legacy Station.
Now, back home, I'm working on fixing the ballast on our small modular layout.
I guess it looks prototypical.....different ballast suppliers and different states of weathering!
We'll see what it looks like when it dries (I'm sure the addition of ground cover will help)....I'll stick it outside in the sun....it will dry faster.

Brian....I agree....I don't fully understand it.....it's accessible from the East/West MARTA line ( about a mile and a half from the Georgia State station) and from the North/SOuth line ( about a half to 3/4 of a mile from the Garnett station).
The new stadium will in the northwest suburbs.....far away from downtown.

nothing new on the model front. Had to do a serve migration for work last weekend, so I wasn't able to do much. Should be able to make some headway this weekend & have pics after that
In the interim, here's some real trains as I go through my shots from vacation -
NS 21M heads westbound on the former Reading in Hummelstown, PA w/ Dash-9 9643 leading.
NS ES44DC 7717 leads 20E through Bound Brook, NJ on the Lehigh Line.
NS 202 lead by SD60E 6950 meets westbound 201 at Marion, VA on the Pulaski District-
Couple of old ones I just got around to posting -
NS Dash-9 9118 leads a westbound coal drag through Shwasville, VA on the Christiansburg District back in Feb
The NKP heritage unit sits tied down in old yard w/ 76M on the Piedmont Division in June
76M meeting 348 in Spencer, NC
A 2014 Christmas layout memory
A parade goes past the model of my daughter's house that I made.
The Spider man is because my grandson liked Spiderman.
The ballerina and princess on the porch is because my granddaughter was/is taking dance class and ballet is part of it. She likes princesses.

The back of the house. My grandson liked camping, thus the camp scene:
The people in this area just east of Spencer are getting upset with the lack of progress on their river valley. The Mississippi River runs through this valley necessitating all the bridges, but it looks like construction has slowed down a lot.

"but it looks like construction has slowed down a lot"
Sometimes there are good reasons for this, Art. Company can slow you down.

Do you have additional pictures of the entire train?

The San Leandro Historical Railway Society held its annual summer show last weekend (August 8/9, 2015). Here are some photos of the G&O Garden Railroad taken during the show.
Happy Weekend Everyone!!
UP double-heading time....is the best time!
WOW,
Pictures are never too many!
The details level is amazing.
Andre.
Great photos, love the outdoor garden railway looks like a lot of space to run some long trains. Nice scenery and detail on the various home layouts good work all and thanks for sharing.
I emptied out a few cans of black spray paint after some sanding followed by masking and the red and silver paint. Repainting a few old items on the layout for more desirable paint schemes.
Will get on with the decals today, looking forward to some new models on the layout.
