I am starting this a day early hoping to see photos from OGR Thursday at Fridays event. This is the first one I have missed in many years due to my wife tearing her meniscus last night. Yes I know she must of planned this . I am unprepared to start the thread so I will use some older photos this week.

Here is a Railking I custom painted to Clinchfield:

Let's see your pictures.

I like the second pic from the top Sam. Oh the days when we were young and everyone thought the Egg was all anyone would ever need to go camping.

Scott, I hope your wife is feeling better and makes a full recovery.

Great pics of the guys at Fridays.

I wish I could have made it to York this time around but I should be able to make it in October.

Leavingtracks, I like the way you turned that MTH bridge for trains into roadway. A very ingenious idea. Nice job.

Hey Scott, My wife had the same thing. She had to have surgery which only took about an hour. The down side is she took about a year to recover. She went through rehab for 2 months and they didn't want her to drive or climb stairs for about a month. She still has problems with that knee and can't walk long distances. The doctor was right when he said he can repair it but it will not be that same as before the tear. Andy

Our club, the Smoky Mtn Model RRders, met at new member Jerry Beaver's home on Monday evening to view his layout. Here are a few scenes with a beach, swimmers, and the large urban area. Quite a nice overall effect.

Jerry and his wife Karyl are there at York along with Harold, Ed, and their wives.

Someone was asking why their RK RS3 didn't have smoke while the very similar RS1 does.  Our NH RS1 in the rear has smoke while the GM&O RS3 does not. My only guess would be that the prototypical placement of the stacks must dictate whether a smoke unit can be utilized under the hood?

As an aside, the sounds in the Hew Haven are quite different from the RS3. The start-up and shut-down sequences are especially neat!

I’ve been buying up those rare MTH Premier prototype box cars on ebay

from 2002 , 2003.

Looks like those were the best years for cars and road names by MTH.

Many roads have never been reissued by anyone in almost 10 years.

What an overall selection to choose from!

Here is my latest creation featuring both car sides…

We had a lightning strike next to the building. Hit hard enough to shake the building and move a couple of things. After going through some electrical hoops (EMP may have caused some damage to TMCC/Legacy) we finally got some time to take a couple of photos.
