What is the difference between wire ? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

ITS TOY TRAINS FOR MEOGR Forum Member

I can't seem to find 14 gauge stranded twisted wire with a cover. I have found plenty of 2 conductor speaker wire stranded 14 gauge or 12 gauge. I plan on star wiring for DCS, what is the difference between the twisted pair and non twisted pair ? Will the 2 conductor speaker wire work ?

Absolutely. The speaker wire will work great. I used it on my last layout and just ordered some for my new layout.

Twisted pair is actually a bit better for DCS as it's really a transmission line. Just don't let them sell you CCA (Copper Coated Aluminum), it's crap!
