When I received the R-36 subway set in January, The power car sometimes would start up in conventional as I was raising the track voltage in the DCS variable channel. When it did start in DCS, after a bit of running , it was no longer controllable with the DCS handheld and continued to run until the voltage in the variable channel was reduced to 0 volts. Its speed did not vary as the voltage was being decreased. On The LHS layout, it started in DCS after some initial recognition problems and seemed to  run in DCS when it just stopped. Before we could retrieve it, it started again on its own and subsequently stopped again. It was sent back to MTH and when returned, the techs note said "reprogrammed"

When it was returned the first time, It ran at the LHS in DCS but not in conventional. So back to MTH it went. It has now been returned to the LHS . They tried it and it seems to work now in DCS and conventional. And the tech's note about was done this time again was " reprogrammed"

I am picking this up on Saturday and hopefully it will be ok on my layout.

I was curious to understand what does it mean and what did MTH do when they say " reprogrammed" Any thoughts on this?
